The journey officially commenced on March 24, 1996, on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, India. Founded by Sri Maitreya Rudrabhayananda under the spiritual guidance of His Holiness Ashariri Prajnapramita Mahababa Pinakin ji, the organization was built on a unique synthesis of modern scientific precision and traditional wisdom. On that founding day, three distinct names emerged to define the mission's scope:
Soul Searchers: The socio-charitable and humanitarian outreach arm.
Atma Sadhana Kendra: The center dedicated to spiritual practice and "Atma Sadhana".
Roohani Khoj: The path of inner, soulful quest.
At its core, Soul Searchers serves as the definitive record of the Avasi Adva tradition and the Raál Paramparā. This lineage represents a "Maha-Stream" of realization that remained largely oral and experiential for generations.
Spiritual Revivalism: The narrative is one of spiritual revivalism integrated with rigorous social service.
Evolution of Consciousness: The work focuses on the profound transformation of the individual from "animalistic instinct to Divinity"

Individual Transformation: The focus is on a profound evolution of the individual from "animalistic instinct to Divinity".
Spiritual Science: The Trust integrates ancient yogic sciences with modern academic rigor, led by Sri Adi Maitreya (Dr. R. Venugopalan), recognized as one of the most extensively qualified holistic educators globally.
The Path to Peace: Programs like Mahashunya Kriya and Ananth Yoga (started in July 2004) guide seekers toward divine awakening and the release of deep-seated stressors.
The narrative of Soul Searchers is one of spiritual revivalism integrated with rigorous social service, defining Seva as the synthesis of "Spirit" (SE) and "Essence" (VA).
The Early Years: Compassionate Outreach (1997–2004)
The initial phase was marked by a commitment to those who could not afford medical care.
Healers in the Slums: Between 1997 and 1999, more than 5,000 people in slum areas were trained as healers.
Healing for the Masses: From 1997 to 2002, over 1,200 individuals from the lower strata received training in Reiki healing sessions.
Accessible Wisdom: Nearly 95% of the courses were provided free of charge, supported by a few paid sessions that covered basic expenses.
Correctional Reform: Since 2009, the Maitreya Meditation Programme in Tihar Jail has facilitated spiritual healing and moral growth for inmates.
Evolution & Institutional Excellence
What began on a riverbank has evolved into a globally accredited institution. Registered as a Socio-Charitable Trust in 2005 under the Indian Trust Act, it was initially led by Dev Ma Shanta Kumari as Chairperson. Today, the Trust maintains ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 21001:2018 certifications, ensuring that the professional delivery of spiritual sciences meets international standards.
The efficacy of Soul Searchers’ social programs is rooted in the intellectual and spiritual caliber of its founder, Sri Adi Maitreya Rudrabhayananda.
Sri Rudrabhayananda was born on the Spring Equinox of 1970, in the city of Delhi, the capital of India. Born in a family of educated and rich, he was given the best of education and knowledge. He was given the name Venu Gopalan, meaning young Krishna holding a flute made of bamboo.
His father, Sh. Rajagopalan was a deeply spiritual person and devotee of Ganesh who was well-versed in many Sanskrit scriptures. During his lifetime, he had learned from many teachers such as Swami Sivananda, Swami Rama, Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti, and others. He had worked in the Army during the British period, serving in Baluchistan, then was part of the Postal department before joining the Pioneer Newspaper and the Patriot Newspaper. He used to write in the esteemed Dharmayug magazine.
Sri Rudrabhayananda’s paternal family comes from the Mullamutil lineage, and the maternal family has a royal lineage. He was born as R. Venugopalan, and academically, he is one of the most extensively qualified holistic educators internationally, possessing multiple Master’s degrees, a PhD, and numerous honorary doctorates that provide a rigorous academic grounding to his spiritual expertise.
A Unique Duality: Scientific Precision and Spiritual Core
This unique duality allows the Trust to approach social issues with scientific precision while maintaining a compassionate, spiritual core. Recognized globally for his contributions, Sri Maitreya was honored with the Excellence in Health and Wellness Award in 2024, marking over 33 years of dedication to transforming lives through pioneering work in health and spirituality.
The Concept of the "Divine Hub"
The Trust’s outreach is designed as a "Divine Hub"—physical spaces where the resonance of inner authority allows participants to transcend survival mode. These hubs, including the planned 50 Silence Hubs for urban centers, are designed to help the brain activity of participants slow down, allowing them to soak in divine energy and reconnect with their core selves.
Mindfulness in Management
A key differentiator in the Soul Searchers model is the integration of mindfulness into the management of a charitable trust. In formal gatherings, members participate in structured meditation alongside administrative planning, embodying the ENDURA philosophy:
Evolve at the physical level.
Nourish the body temple.
Develop to reach the next level.
Understand the transcendence from body to mind to soul.
Realize the self.
Accept the realization.
Uttama Acharya Sthiti: The Role of the Leader
The leadership within this lineage is defined by the Uttama Acharya Sthiti (Superior Teacher position), which involves guiding individuals through circumstantial pressures toward righteousness and inner sovereignty. Sri Maitreya’s teachings emphasize that while ancient wisdom is the foundation, a new change must be sought from within the lifeforce of the present moment.
The "Philosophy of the Now" and Vision 2030
This "Philosophy of the Now" ensures that the Trust's social outreach remains relevant to contemporary challenges such as urbanization and family disintegration. This is the driving force behind the Vision 2030 Roadmap, which aims to:
Empower 10,000 women through the Shakti Stability program.
Commission a Global Custodian Network of 1,000 certified leaders.
Integrate emotional intelligence through the Vishe Curriculum in 100 schools.
By shifting from creating followers to commissioning Custodians, the lineage ensures that service becomes "Living Spirituality," touching over 600,000 lives and continuing a 30-year legacy of humanitarian impact.
